Drum Island Marsh Restoration

This project includes restoration of approximately 22 acres of marsh ecosystem located at the southern tip of Drum Island. Work includes excavation and removal of existing dredged material to lower the area elevation, construction of protective revetments and planting indigenous plant species. Cape Romain’s subcontract includes the supply and installation of approximately 6,400 tons of rip rap and bedding stone on the south end of Drum Island.
