Morris Island Light, Phase II Stabilization

  • Owner: Save The Light
  • Construction Cost: $734,313
  • Completion Date:  August 2010

Scope of Services:

  • Assist PGCC in Access of All Needed Equipment and Supplies

Morris Island Lighthouse support for Palmetto Gunite: CRC was a subcontractor for PGCC, who’s task was to install 68 micro piles through the existing foundation in order to stabilize the light house; the original timber pile foundation had been damaged by marine bores; Cape Romain had a jack up barge and crane stationed onsite and made almost daily tugboat runs moving cement, drill rods, and large quantities of fresh water; weather conditions dictated the work schedule, but with proper planning the project proceeded with no lost time due to lack of ability to deliver needed supplies.
