Scope of Services:

  • 150' long x 15' wide hollow core slab bridge, timber rail, topping slab, approach slabs

 

Cape Romain Contractors, Inc is a sub-contractor to Gulf Stream Construction to build a 150’ long bridge to a small island on the north end of Kiawah. The bridge is 3 spans of 50’ long hollow core slabs. The Bridge is founded on 70’ long 16” pre-stress concrete piles and cast in place caps. The superstructure consist of 50’ long hollow core slabs. The riding surface of the bridge will be a 3” thick concrete topping slab. The bridge has a heavy timber rail, concrete approach slabs and timber guardrail. Utilities will be cast into concrete curbs along each side of the bridge deck.
