Project Description
Cape Romain Contractors’ dive team repaired 33 each 12-inch prestressed concrete piles from the bottom of the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park boardwalk relieving platform structure to 12” below the mudline using 14” and 20” square fiberglass pile jackets filled with high strength epoxy. A Carrousel pump was used to inject the epoxy from a 2” line into ports threaded into the fiberglass jackets. The work was accessed from below the precast fascia panel and was completed under water. Our Link-Belt 108B 45-ton Crawler Crane was positioned on a 30’x120’ barge that contained all the equipment necessary to complete this project. Our dive team completed this project on schedule and on budget with minimal impact to the beautiful downtown Beaufort Waterfront Park.
