Project Description

The Tidewater Road Bridge Extension project included the construction of 480’ long flat slab bridge and associated road work to tie Tidewater Bridge to existing Tidewater Road as part of the Port Access Road project. This project is part of the scope for the construction of the South Carolina Port Authority’s new Hugh K. Leatherman Sr. terminal.

Scope of Services

  • Single flat slab bridge – 480’ long
  • Pile driving – 24” Prestressed Concrete and H-Pile Composite Piles
  • Cast in place concrete caps
  • Cast in place concrete deck – 30’ span flat slab
  • Approach slab
  • H-Pile supported relieving platform at roadway transition
  • Temporary crane access trestle
